Pietro Cingolani

Researcher

Pietro Cingolani (PhD, Università di Torino, 2008) è senior researcher presso FIERI, istituto con il quale collabora dal 2003. Ha insegnato presso le Università di Trento, del Piemonte Orientale e ha collaborato con istituzioni formative italiane e straniere. Attualmente è docente di Antropologia dei Media e assegnista di ricerca presso l’Università degli Studi di Torino. Ha una lunga esperienza di ricerca sul campo oltreché in Italia, in Romania e in altri Paesi dell’Europa Orientale. I sui ambiti di interesse e di specializzazione sono i processi migratori, il transnazionalismo, l’etnografia ubana, le relazioni inter-etniche, le relazioni tra mobilità e segregazione sociale, con particolare attenzione alle popolazioni Rom. Ha coordinato diversi progetti di ricerca e dal 2006 cura esposizioni fotografiche su questi temi e la rassegna di documentari internazionali Crocevia di Sguardi.

 


 

Pietro Cingolani (PhD, University of Turin, 2008) is senior researcher at FIERI, where he has collaborated since 2003. He has taught at the University of Trento, the University of Eastern Piedmont and he has collaborated with Italian and foreign educational institutions. He is currently professor of Media Anthropology and research fellow at the University of Turin. He has a long experience in field research in Italy, Romania and other Eastern European countries as well. His areas of interest and specialization are migration processes, transnationalism, uban ethnography, inter-ethnic relations, the mobility and social segregation nexus, with particular attention to the Roma populations. He has coordinated several research projects and since 2006 he has curated photographic exhibitions on these issues and the International Documentary Film Festival Crocevia di Sguardi.
