Claudia Finotelli

Researcher associate

Claudia Finotelli, holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Münster (Germany) and is currently Associate Professor at the Department of Applied Sociology of the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. She is PI of the Research Project “The subjective dimension of citizenship: conceptions, juridical practice and individual strategies in Italy and in Spain” (CIVITES) funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation (2020-2023). She was visiting fellow at the Department of Political Science of the University of Toronto (2010) and the Department of Sociology at Trinity College Dublin (2016). Her research interests cover the areas of migration control and citizenship with a special focus on Southern Europe.


Claudia Finotelli ha conseguito il dottorato in Scienze Politiche presso l’Università di Münster (Germania) ed è professore associato presso l’Universidad Complutense de Madrid. E’ coordinatrice del progetto “La dimensione soggettiva della cittadinanza: concezioni, prassi giuridica e strategie individuali in Spagna e in Italia” (CIVITES) finanziato dal Ministero Spagnolo per la Scienza e l’Innovazione (2020-2023). E’ stata visiting scholar presso il Dipartimento di Scienze Politiche dell’Università di Toronto (2010) e il Dipartimento di Sociologia del Trinity College di Dublino (2016). I suoi prinicpali interessi di ricerca sono le politiche di controllo migratorio e di cittadinanza con un interesse speciale per i paesi dell’Europa meridionale.
